Beautifully, handcrafted Chestnut hiking staff in Somerset using traditional coppicing methods. A beautiful hiking staff that has many uses.
Coppicing is an old tradition where walking cane makers take advantage of trees that produce new growth from the stump or roots from trees such as Ash, Hazel and Blackthorn trees.
The materials used for the Chestnut Hiking Staff is grown and harvested at Classic Canes' forest in Somerset. The wood is harvest, allowed to dry, straightened and finished by hand to produce a unique elegent cane.
The Chestnut hiking staff includes a combi-spike ferrule system that allows longer canes to be used on either soft or hard grounds. Simply remove the rubber tip to reveal a spike.
